Nigel Adkins: Wants Southampton to stick togeher to get out of their slump in form
Nigel Adkins called on Southampton to stick together after his lacklustre side were easily beaten 2-0 by Leicester at St Mary's on Monday night.
David Nugent and Matt Mills scored in the first half, with the Southampton players booed off at the interval by some sections of the home support.Despite changes, the hosts could not land a blow after the break and remain second in the table following successive Championship defeats.Adkins told Sky Sports HD1: "They were better than us. They worked harder, we didn't pass the ball enough, we gave them two poor goals from our point of view.Fantastic"The players have been great this season. We've just gone second in the Championship (from leading). They've been fantastic."Tonight's performance wasn't good enough - the players are aware of that, I'm aware of that - but they've worked very, very hard to be in this position in the division."And what we've got to do now is make sure that we learn the lessons from today's game."Everybody sticks together, everyone works very, very hard, emotions are in check, we'll go through the game tomorrow, and we'll get ourselves ready for the next game."Read more http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7451146/
