Adam Maher: On target for AZ Alkmaar

AZ Alkmaar claimed a 1-1 draw with Metalist Kharkiv to take them into the last 32 of the Europa League.

AZ were in pole position to qualify in second ahead of Austria Vienna, who beat Malmo to finish level with AZ on eight points, but found themselves four goals short having drawn twice with the Eredivisie side.The Ukrainian side went ahead in the 37th minute through Marko Devic only for AZ, who had the better of play for most of the match, to draw level almost instantly through Adam Maher.With AZ drawing, Austria Vienna were knocked out of the Europa League despite their 2-0 victory over Group G's bottom side Malmo.Karl Daxbacher's side had to win and hope AZ lost at home to Metalist, who had already been confirmed as group winners, but it was not meant to be.Vienna secured the win thanks to second-half goals from Michael Liendl and Nacer Barazite.
