Andre Villas-Boas: Chelsea manager underlines strength and depth in his squad
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is confident that he has enough options in his squad to cover for the players who could be leaving in January.
Ivory Coast internationals Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou will fly off for the Africa Cup of Nations next month, while Nicolas Anelka and Alex have been placed on the transfer list. There has been speculation on whether Chelsea will sign players to replace the gaps in the squad, but Villas-Boas has confidence in the players he has at the moment."We have to make a decision," the Portuguese said of his forward line."Fernando (Torres) is there for that position, (Daniel) Sturridge and (Romelu) Lukaku. I think that's enough options."We don't have a date yet for Didier's departure."We have plenty of central defenders on loan," explained Villas-Boas on his defence."We have a bring-back option on (Hamburg defender Slobodan) Rajkovic."We don't know if Alex will go, or if the offers will be acceptable. We have kids coming through, as well."Read more http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7369937/
