Aluko ban stands

Sone Aluko: Will miss Gers' SPL games against Hibs and Inverness

The Scottish Football Association have upheld Rangers winger Sone Aluko's two-match ban.

The Gers' new signing was suspended after being found guilty of simulation in their 2-1 weekend win over Dunfermline. The home side won a penalty when Aluko went down after attempting to pass Pars midfielder Martin Hardie with the home side leading 1-0.Rangers appealed against the decision, stating referee Steve Conroy had no hesitation in pointing to the penalty spot at Ibrox. The club's new signing will now definitely miss their upcoming SPL games against Hibernian and Inverness.Disappointed"After a lengthy debate at which the club presented its evidence but the original decision was upheld and an immediate two match ban has been applied," read a statement on the club's official website."That will see Aluko miss out on Saturday's trip to Easter Road and next weekend's visit of Inverness to Ibrox."The player and manager were both in attendance at Hampden for the hearing but both left the SFA's offices extremely disappointed by the outcome."
