Andy King: Opened the scoring for Leicester

Nigel Pearson was delighted as Leicester climbed into the top six, while Blackpool boss Ian Holloway was left to lament a 2-0 defeat at his old club.

Pearson remains unbeaten since returning to Leicester for a second spell as manager earlier this month. The only blemish on his record came in his second game in charge - a 1-1 draw away at Portsmouth.Andy King opened the scoring in the 35th minute, the midfielder prodding a low shot under Matt Gilks after Dyer had supplied a neat through-ball, before substitute Neil Danns bagged the second. He said: "It was a very good result. In the first half we were a little bit laboured in how we went about things, but in the second half we were much improved and could have won by more."Asked about his side's elevation into the top six, the Foxes boss added: "We know we've got to work hard. The top two (Southampton and West Ham) are running away with it at the moment, so we've got to try and keep in contact."There are still an awful lot of points to be played for and I think there's more to come from us in terms of performance, because it's quite early days yet for the players in the sense of getting to know my methods and how we work as a staff."I also think the players need to play with a bit more confidence but that will come in time."SuccessMuch is expected of Leicester this season following a substantial transfer outlay, but Pearson insists he is comfortable with the situation he has inherited following his return from Hull."I do understand the requirements and it's very clear that we need success," he said."We'll have plenty of setbacks between now and the end of the season, but if we go about games in the fashion that we've been applying ourselves in these three games to start with then we'll be OK."Wales international King was delighted to get on the scoresheet in his first appearance since the tragic death of national team boss Gary Speed at the weekend."He was a goalscoring midfielder himself, so for me to get the goal was obviously nice," said the 23-year-old."It's one I'll dedicate to him as a little thank you for what he has done to help me improve my career."Below-parBlackpool boss Holloway bemoaned a below-par display on his return to one of his former clubs.Leicester were relegated under Holloway in 2008 and he quipped: "It's another disappointing night for me in this ground. I probably had far too many of them for the supporters who were cheering tonight and if I bought every ticket in a raffle I still wouldn't win here."Referring to Kasper Schmeichel's fine stop to deny Gary Taylor-Fletcher shortly before Leicester's opener, Holloway added: "Goals change games. I think we forced their keeper into one magnificent save before they scored and then they go and get a toe-poke underneath my goalie, who had made a couple of good saves. They got the energy from that."I thought we looked a little bit tired, a little lethargic and a little unsettled when Alex Baptiste came off (moments before Blackpool fell behind). We'll dust ourselves off and not worry too much about it."
