Delio Rossi: Claims to be no magician but is looking forward to Fiorentina challenge
Delio Rossi has been officially unveiled as the new manager at Fiorentina and claims he cannot wait to get started.
The Serie A outfit parted company with former coach Sinisa Mihajlovic on Monday following a disappointing start to the season. With the club having won just three of their 10 games so far to sit in the bottom half of the table, it has been decided to take the side in a different direction.Rossi is the man charged with the task of turning fortunes around and he is excited by the challenge that awaits him in Florence."As soon as I was called I gave my availability," he told the club's official website."I feel this is an opportunity worth experiencing. I hope to live up to the expectations."I have been linked to other clubs in recent months but most were media speculation."ChemistryRossi, who has penned a deal until June 2013, appreciates that he has work to do in order to turn things around and claims it is too early for him to be setting targets for the remainder of the campaign."If they have decided on a coaching change during the season, it means that something has not gone well," added the 51-year-old, who has been out of work since leaving Palermo in June."It's not in my style to make promises but I know I will give everything to bring this team to the high positions in the standings."Before I evaluate the situation, I want to see the players."I start from zero and what I've achieved in the past counts for nothing. I will evaluate all the players on the basis of what I see in training."My aim is to give a soul to this team. I believe in three things: work, work and work."I would like to be able to get the team to have chemistry with the fans and the fans to have chemistry with the team. But I am not a magician and I can only try to do it."Read more http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7299425/
