Wisła Kraków have dismissed coach Robert Maaskant after a poor run of form both domestically and in Europe.
The Polish champions are yet to announce a replacement for the 42-year-old Dutchman, who was appointed in August 2010 and led Wisła to the Ekstraklasa title last season, although they have confirmed that Kazimierz Moskal, who was Maaskant's assistant, will take temporary charge as coach until winter break.
Wisła fell just short of reaching the UEFA Champions League group stage, going down 3-2 on aggregate to APOEL FC in the play-offs, and their recent results have taken a turn for the worse. The Krakow outfit have lost three of their four UEFA Europa League games and sit bottom of Group K, while their last two league outings have ended in defeat.
Promoted TS Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala beat them 1-0 in Krakow before they lost by the same scoreline at local rivals MKS Cracovia Kraków on Sunday. It was Wisła's first defeat at Cracovia, who remain bottom of the Ekstraklasa, in 27 years.
