St Johnstone: Players will have an off day on Monday after their game against Aberdeen was called off

The Scottish Premier League game between St Johnstone and Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park scheduled to be held on Monday evening has been called off because of heavy fog.

The decision was made at around 5pm local time following an inspection by referee Steven McLean, who deemed that the fog was too dense inside the stadium for the match to be played.Both clubs have already made the decision known to their fans via their respective official websites."Tonight's match against Aberdeen is off due to fog," reads a statement on St Johnstone's official site."Tonight's game at McDiarmid Park has just been called off," stated Aberdeen on their official website immediately after the decision was finalised."Fog has hung over Perth for most of the day and referee Steven McLean was requested by St Johnstone to make an early inspection of the stadium. He decided the match cannot go ahead."The game was supposed to be Steve Lomas' first game in charge of St Johnstone after being appointed as the new manager last week.St Johnstone are currently fourth in the league table with 19 points from 13 matches, while Aberdeen are second from bottom with 12.
