Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany believed his side 'utterly deserved' their last-gasp victory over Villarreal.

"Self belief you know. I'm happy we did it, I'm really happy, maybe that's something we're going to carry on doing this season hopefully."
He added: "Europe seemed to be so different for us so far compared to the Premier League but it was deserved and maybe this is the one that will unlock all the capability we have for this Champions League hopefully.
"You can not underestimate (the competition). I've said it before, I think we're by far in the toughest group and Napoli was a great team, Bayern is a great team and Villarreal you know have been in there (the Champions League) far more than we've been.
"So it's a great win, a dramatic win as you say but it makes it such a beautiful night."
