Peter Crouch: Prepared not to be called on by Fabio Capello for Euro 2012
Stoke City striker Peter Crouch insists that he is prepared to be overlooked by England head coach Fabio Capello for the Three Lions' Euro 2012 campaign.
The 30-year-old has not played for England for almost a year but is in contention for a place in the squad for next summer's finals because of the suspension of forward Wayne Rooney from the group stage. However, Crouch, who joined Stoke from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window, says that he is not going to "lose any sleep" over whether he will play for his country in Poland and Ukraine next year."I'm quite happy going about my business at Stoke," he said. "It's quite nice to have 10 days' rest, but of course I would love to be involved with England."But if I'm not, I won't lose any sleep over it.""I've always been proud of my record for England and I don't think I've ever let my country down," continued Crouch."I love it at Stoke. I feel I'm a major part of something that's growing. We've got a lot of potential to do well and I feel that I'm going to be a big part of that."AttitudeThe Potters manager Tony Pulis too believes that Crouch is an important part of his team and praised him despite his failure to score against Fulham in their 2-0 home win in the Premier League on Saturday."Peter will score goals, he led the line really well and the longer the game went on, the more opportunities and chances we created," said the Stoke boss. "It is not just what he does with the ball or with the ball around him."It is the effect he has on the rest of the team, and he also has a tremendous effect on the opposition."Read more http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_7246205,00.html
