Redknapp disappointed to draw

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he was disappointed his side could not hang on for a win as they conceded against Newcastle late in Sunday's clash at St James' Park.

Substitute Shola Ameobi handed the home side a point in the 86th minute when he grabbed a late equaliser for a 2-2 draw, ending Spurs' run of four wins on the bounce.Manager Redknapp admits he expected a tough encounter on Tyneside and lamented missing out on two extra points."When you're 2-1 up in the 80-whatever minute you're looking for the three points, that's for sure," he said."This is always a tough place to come and they're unbeaten this year so they're a tough side, but we were in a position to finish them off and at 2-1 I felt very comfortable."We were looking to get forward more and I thought we could go on and nick another goal."We got in some great positions on the break, but didn't pick the right ball or whatever."BlowThe late equaliser was not the only blow for Spurs, who also saw captain Ledley King go off with yet another injury in the first half.Redknapp said he did not yet know the severity of the problem."When you don't train, you're going to get injuries," he said. "That's why footballers train all week, so they can perform."He comes out and the man's a miracle, but he can't train so he's always open to getting injuries."
