Midfielder Moritz Stoppelkamp looks set to miss Hannover 96's UEFA Europa League trip to FC Vorskla Poltava on 29 September after sustaining a calf injury in training on Thursday morning.
The injury will keep the 24-year-old, who has made four substitute appearances for Hannover this season but featured in all 90 minutes of their 2-1 defeat of Borussia Dortmund last weekend, out of his side's league visit to FC Augsburg on Saturday.
Although the length of Stoppelkamp's lay-off remains unclear, the former SC Rot-Weiß Oberhausen midfielder's involvement in Thursday's match in Ukraine has been cast in serious doubt.
Hannover lie fifth in the Bundesliga standings, four points behind FC Bayern München, and are two points behind UEFA Europa League Group B leaders FC København after a goalless draw in their opening fixture against R. Standard de Liège.
