Brown: Aberdeen are struggling for form but their boss will not give up the fight

Craig Brown remains fully committed to his duties at Aberdeen despite suffering 'the worst result' of his managerial career.

The Dons boss watched on helplessly on Tuesday as his side crashed out of the Scottish Communities Cup to Second Division outfit East Fife.A pulsating encounter ended 3-3 after extra-time, before the visitors prevailed 4-3 on penalties.Brown was understandably downbeat afterwards, but insists he will not be considering his position at Pittodrie."I have got confidence in my own ability to turn things around," he said."I think Archie (Knox) and I are capable of that."MistakeThe cup defeat arrived on the back of a disappointing run of form in the Scottish Premier League, with Aberdeen currently sat one point ahead of rock-bottom Inverness.Brown acknowledges that he has work to do, with the East Fife result seeing the Dons hit a new low.He added: "I would say that was arguably the worst result of my managerial career."We didn't play at all. I possibly made a mistake by changing the team too much and leaving out good players from the start thinking we had enough in reserve to cope with this fixture."I have never considered my own position at all and even after (the defeat to East Fife) I'm determined."If other people consider it there is nothing I can do about that - I just have to get on with my job conscientiously."
